Current
Projects Brian
is developing the curriculum for a series of “life skills”
classes for Chicago area teens. Topics will include personal finance management, employment, insurance, problem solving,
communication and presentations, conflict resolution, community service and environmental responsibility. Legislative Advocacy Brian was a member of an inter-association
task force that worked with regulators and other interested parties to develop legislation aimed at combating abusive lending
practices in Illinois by various means including the registration of individual loan originators.
These statutory changes were enacted
in 2003 and took effect in January of 2004. After chairing the committee responsible for drafting the new originator registration
exams, Brian developed and conducted pre-registration training sessions, independently and on behalf of the IMBA,
for the thousands of mortgage professionals in Illinois and elsewhere who are subject to these requirements.
